Whale WatchingDuring the summer Outer Island Expeditions offers up to three tours per day from Eastsound, about a half mile from the Eastsound Landmark Inn. Head out in one of their six or twelve passenger boats and search for whales. Gray whales are spotted in the spring, Orcas during the summer, and Humpbacks in the fall. Outer Island Expeditions spots whales on over 90% of their trips! Fishing ChartersHead out from Eastsound Village on Orcas Island for a day of fishing. Outer Island Expeditions offers fishing charters for Ling Cod, Rock Fish, and Dungeness Crab. Choose from a open and fast 23 ft skiff or a large luxurious 32 ft catamaran. The area offers great fishing for families, first timers, and experienced anglers. Kayak TripsOuter Island Expeditions offers daily tours that depart just a half mile from the Eastsound Landmark Inn. These tours are an approximately three hour paddle (round trip) to Pt. Doughty State Park for a snack or lunch. On the way we frequently spot seals, eagles, porpoises and more.For the more adventurous you can board a power boat and head over to Sucia Island for a guided kayak trip around this pristine island park. Sucia Island is 2.5 miles North of Orcas Island. Sucia and the surrounding islands provide a haven for wildlife as the protected waters and undeveloped lands make great homes for seals, sea lions, otters, and a multitude of birds.
